URMIA promotes professional development for those in the field of risk management in higher education and invests in developing the next generation of higher education risk managers.
These are intended to help URMIA institutional members attend an URMIA conference who have never previously attended an URMIA annual conference and who require financial assistance to do so. The application period for these scholarships (up to $1,600) opens in May.
These are intended to help URMIA institutional members attend a regional conference who have not previously attended an URMIA conference and who require financial assistance to do so. The application period for regional conference scholarships ($500) opens each fall.
URMIA currently offers an educational scholarship ($2,500) for up to three college/university students each year. These are intended for full-time students seeking a risk management degree at a four-year institution of higher education in the U.S., or for students currently enrolled in a two-year community college who plan to continue their education as juniors at a four-year institution in the fall semester of the application year. Applicants must be rising juniors, seniors or masters/doctoral candidates. Application documents are made available at the beginning of the year, with a deadline in March.
