Regional Conference Scholarships

This scholarship program is intended to help URMIA institutional members attend a regional conference who have not previously attended an URMIA conference and who require financial assistance to do so. The application period for regional conference scholarships is now open. Deadline to apply is January 24, 2025.   Learn More

 

Annual Conference Scholarships

URMIA offers a number of scholarships to bring professional risk managers as well as risk management and insurance students to their first URMIA annual conference who require financial assistance.

For Institutional Risk Managers

This scholarship program supports URMIA institutional members who have not previously attended an URMIA annual conference and require financial assistance to attend. Includes the Whittington Solo Risk Manager Professional Scholarship opportunity.   Learn More

Be the Change Scholarships

One of URMIA’s strategic goals is to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) within our community and the profession of higher education risk management. DEIB initiatives are critical to evolve our organization and profession and URMIA is committed to taking intentional and affirmative steps as we progress into the future. Our Be the Change Scholarships provide opportunities for members and non-members of diverse backgrounds and at diverse institutions.

Annual Conference Attendance

The Be the Change Annual Conference Scholarship supports one employee from a Minority Serving Institution with financial assistance to attend the URMIA Annual Conference. At the conference, the scholarship recipient can gain valuable educational and professional resources and connections as a higher education risk manager.   Learn More

URMIA Membership

This scholarship opportunity awards a one-year URMIA membership to a Minority Serving Institution. This provides those employees who have risk management and/or insurance responsibilities at the recipient institution with URMIA’s professional development and resources in addition to professional networking opportunities.   Learn More

Student Internship

The Be the Change Funded Student Internship award supports an internship for a student at an URMIA member institution. The internship provides an opportunity to further a student’s understanding of higher education risk management.   Learn More
