Regional Conference Policies

Attendee Responsibility

All conference attendees agree to comply with all rules and conditions of the University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA). This includes adherence to general standards of professional conduct in URMIA’s Event Safety & Responsibility Policy and our URMIA Code of Ethical Conduct and any additional information that may come in correspondence regarding the conference, be posted onsite, and in virtual spaces.

Registrants may not send bulk email or mass solicitations to URMIA conference attendees.

You are asked to check the “I have read and agree to these policies” box during the registration process.

Payment

Online registration requires immediate payment. You will be prompted to pay with a credit card. Alternately, contact the URMIA Office and request to be registered and invoiced.

Cancellations

Cancellations and requests for registration fee refunds must be received in writing and are subject to a $50 administrative fee. Requests received after the end of a conference's early registration period will forfeit all registration fees. Please allow 30 days following the conference for all refund processing.

If URMIA must cancel this conference for any reason, liability is limited to the registration fees paid only. URMIA is not responsible for other expenses incurred, including travel and accommodation fees. Payments to URMIA are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.

Substitutions

Registration substitutions are allowed prior to the beginning of the conference. Send the name of the registrant and substitute attendee's name and contact information to the URMIA Office.

Appearance Release

Photographs, screen grabs, audio recordings, and videos may be captured by URMIA or its agents and employees during the conference. By registering for this event, attendees grant permission to URMIA to utilize any such images and recordings for commercial and promotional purposes, in any medium or context now known or later developed, without further authorization. The attendee shall have no right of approval, no claim to financial compensation, and no other claim arising out of such use of the attendee’s name, likeness, image, voice, statements, and/or surroundings.

No Solicitation

Registrants may not send bulk e-mail or mass solicitations to URMIA conference attendees. The online community, URMIAnetwork, may not be used to market or sell products or services. Attendees are encouraged to use the online community to ask questions, share ideas, connect with each other and coordinate activities that do not compete with URMIA programming.

Acknowledgement Required

Acknowledgement of these terms is required for registration. By registering, you acknowledge that you have read and will obey its terms. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the terms, please contact the executive director.

Share Content Responsibly

You may not sell, distribute, stream over the Web, or otherwise use any part of the conference programming or content (live or recorded) other than for personal, archival use without prior written consent by the executive director.

We encourage you to share your conference experiences in social media. As a courtesy, ask permission before posting or tagging photos of others.
