Despite the challenges faced by campus and professional staff in promoting the health and well-being of fraternity and sorority members, there is hope for positive change. When students arrive on campus and engage in organizations, campus professionals often face a dilemma when it comes to educating fraternity and sorority communities about risky behavior like hazing
The network of professionals you experience through URMIA is encouraging and a demonstrable reminder that we truly can excel if we recognize more of our similarities than our differences
We've updated URMIA's Resource Guide with access to more professional development opportunities presenting the foundational concepts of higher ed risk management
URMIA’s strategic goals are providing the guidance for these connections including: Connecting members to each other Connecting members with professional development and resources Connecting our actions to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging Connecting with the future to ensure URMIA’s continued success and the success of our institutions Reaching Outside the Traditional Risk Management Community In particular, I want to see URMIA increase its collaborations with our higher education sister associations so that we are all serving the higher ed community in the most productive ways
Engage in conversations across campus to raise literacy for well-being among higher education professionals Partnering to Raise Awareness from Multiple Corners of Campus URMIA is joining more than 20 other higher education associations as we come together in dialogue around well-being
