Winter 2015 College & University Health, Safety, & Security Seminar

Overview: The Overseas Security Advisory Council and the University of Pennsylvania will hold an international education seminar in Philadelphia that will focus on health, safety, and security issues relevant to higher education institutions and their students, faculty, and staff who travel abroad. The seminar will highlight Middle East travel security as well as the following topics:

International Security Evacuations

Crisis Response Scenarios

A Look Inside the U.S. Embassy

Responding to a Student Death Abroad

Developing Emergency Plans

Risk Mitigation and Management

Cyber Security Abroad

 

Middle East Security Sessions will include:

Keynote Presentation by Eric Trager of The Washington Institute

OSAC Middle East Security Analysis

Panel Discussion: Security Outlook for University Travelers in the Middle East


Registration Information: Registration is open and free of charge to OSAC constituents. Constituents can register by going to the www.OSAC.gov events page or following this link.

Location Information: The seminar will take place at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. The address is 3501 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104.

Hotel Information: Attendees are responsible for making their own hotel reservations. Suggested hotels are the Sheraton University City Hotel or The Inn at Penn.

Program Information: The program will be held from approximately 8:30am to 5:00pm on December 2 and from 8:30am to 12:00pm on December 3.
